Используя свои полномочия, предусмотренные статьей Конституции ИААФ 6.11(B) и статье 14.7 членов Совета ИААФ временно приостановила членство ВФЛА в связи с обвинениями в нарушении целей ИААФ. Цели ИААФ, в частности, включают в себя разработку и осуществление программ, направленных на искоренение допинга из спорта и обеспечения достоверности и целостности легкой атлетики.
